Hi there,

Reading your guide is really informative but I still struggle to find where are the points I can put up bass traps. The position of my workspace is flushed to the side on my left as well(I wanted to center my workspace but that would give me less space to move around and I needed a way to walk through to the back of my room to access my window). I'm not sure is it worth trying to treat my kind of setup because it's really irregular. Having both door and window at the corner of my room, I'm really unsure can anything be done. I also have a projector setup as well. I just hope to have some simple advises if it's possible! I was considering something similar to Corner Bass Trap Placement Foundation 2.

These are the two things I have that is causing me difficulty... https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/53539a8abf864b8b44cc8bc1f6fb4434d8189a6e2b5acdcc5169fbb023580031.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ac0341c2a730bf2ac720b269c6ae2850f89de2b0709f5eb0882e0735e6036410.jpg

Great stuff! I have done some acoustic treatment and bass trapping in my studio, but still have problem with what I think is a standing wave, around 126-132 Hz. It's very noticeable in the middle of the room, i.e. the "sweet spot". Not so much build up in the corners (that I can hear). Any suggestions?
Thanks again for a great article!

Hi Tim,
I've been researching ways to make my dining room more hearing friendly for my 5 year old son who is deaf and wearing technology. Thanks for your post, very accessible for me. So it seem that adding bass traps to our dining room might get us the most bang for our buck, instead of adding carpet (yuck, I have 2 small, messy kids) or sound absorbing celing tiles. I was wondering, for my purposes, do you think I would be okay simply to hang drapes in all of the corners of my dining room? My husband is quite handy and is excited to try out the DIY to build traps, but I wanted to check with you first if you thought that our needs may not require such drastic measures. Also, I'd be happy to take any other suggestions you have.

Love these write ups. Really 'sound' (sorry!) advice and i really appreciate you putting this all up for all to check out. Acoustics are nuts lol... but following advice such as this can really improve your life whether you listen for pleasure, a hobby or as a pro or semi-pro. Thanks again!
